Kicking off a month long spotlight on the music of LC Wells, The Jazz Network Worldwide is beginning by featuring the appropriately timed Christmas song, I Wish It Would Snow, performed by jazz legends, Gloria Lynne and featuring Bucky Pizzarelli, Jerry Bruno, Jim West and Jay Dittamo.
“I Wish It Would Snow is the perfect backdrop for a nostalgic Christmas filled with memories and the fullness of the holiday spirit. Gloria Lynne brings her signature vocals to the composition with the musical conversation between some of the best musicians of our time” says Jaijai Jackson, creator of The Jazz Network Worldwide.
The campaign will also include Wells’ previously released CD, ‘Off The Cuff.’ The sounds on this CD are influenced as much by Wells’s observations as they are his diverse influences—Hendrix, Cream, Zappa, James Brown, Miles, Coltrane, Charlie Parker, the list goes on.
NJ native LC Wells commented, “The songs on Off The Cuff, as well as my new release I Wish It Would Snow, were all written and performed with a passion for life. I’ve been blessed to play with some of the best and I’m really pleased with how they have turned out.”
Off The Cuff also features a number of great players. Mike Longo (Dizzy Gillespie’s music director of many years) and Marty Laskin play great solos on Dizzy Heights. Allan Namery delivers a killer sax solo on “Paralysis Through Analyisis” along with a blazing guitar from Wells himself. JB Lessen (guitar, harmonica) Susan Diedrichsen (vocals) are heard on multiple tracks. The album was co-produced by Jay Dittamo (drums, percussion, vibes and keyboard) and recorded at The Cave Studio, Waldwick, NJ.
