San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2012
At the same time that speculation about the ‘end of the world’ on December 21st reaches an extreme frenzy, hundreds of events and organizations around the world are linking up for a positive demonstration of ‘human unity’ under the banner of UNIFY.
At the exact moment of solstice on December 21, 2012 at 11:11 UT and at 20:00 UT millions of people will share two synchronized moments of peace and presence through unified ceremony, prayer and meditation.
At 8:00 GMT, Flash Mob Meditation events will be taking place in the following locations: Mumbai, Rome, Paris, Munich, Berlin, Cape Town, Mexico City, Montreal, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Kauai, Nairobi, Taiwan, Sydney, Byron Bay (Australia), Antarctica, Jerusalem and Chile along with hundreds of other cities.
Religious and spiritual leaders from the Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Druze faiths will all join together with their communities in a synchronized prayer for peace at sacred sites throughout the Old City of Jerusalem through UNIFY Jerusalem. The Elijah Board of World Religious Leaders, The Jerusalem Peacemakers, The Abrahamic Reunion, and Peace Day LIVE are hosting this event, which is the first time in history that there will be simultaneous connected gatherings at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, The Western Wall and the Dome of the Rock/Noble Sanctuary
Also at 11:11 GMT many of the world’s indigenous tribes, including the Mayan, Hopi, Lakota, and Blackfoot are observing the solstice moment in a unified ceremony aligned with many Spiritual Leaders in India that are holding synchronized meditations at that time as well.
UNIFY was born out of the MedMob Meditation Flash Mob Movement, which grew from 2 cities to 812 cities in 2 years (the last MedMob in London drew 2500 people) and Be The Peace (http://www.bethepeace.com), which was the first global synchronized meditation flash mob on international day of peace, September 21, 2012. At that time 84 organizations unified with hundreds of thousands of meditators worldwide.
The mission of the UNIFY global movement is to inspire and empower people with the tools to organize and participate in these globally synchronized moments. The hope behind the ‘Unify’ idea is that joining in with these events will demonstrate that people have much more desire to participate in something positive, than to dwell on the doom and gloom of apocalyptic predictions.
Celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher, Beyonce, Russell Simmons have all taken to Twitter about UNIFY and the events taking place worldwide. MedMob, BeThePeace, Peace 2012, Earthdance, The Shift Network and Birth2012 are all participating networks in Unify.

UNIFY will also be aligning forces with the Three Days of Love campaign (http://www.threedaysoflove.com) leading up to December 21, 2012.
“On December 21, the world will unify. Coming together at these moments creates the opportunity for us to connect as one global family,” said Unify.org. December 21, 2012 maybe the final day in a 5,125 year cycle in the Mayan Calendar, but, contrary to media speculation, the Maya never predicted that the world would end on that day. They saw this date as the ending of one world age and the beginning of another.
On December 22nd, UNIFY hopes that we will enter the beginning of this new world age having participated, at least for a moment, in an experience of human unity.
