The Offerchat Development Team is staging a new Offerchat feature to be deployed alongside a new live chat widget. The development team is keen on adding a Pre-Chat Form which administrators and Offerchat account owners can activate before their website visitors and customers can connect to chat with a live chat agent. The pre-chat form can be enabled by account owners and administrators from the Settings section in the Offerchat client control chat panel when they login.
When activated, the Offerchat chat bar expands to a Pre-Chat Form instead of live chat window when clicked by a site visitor browsing a website with an Offerchat online chat widget installed. The form includes name, email address, and message fields by default that the administrator or website owner can customize from the chat control panel. They can choose which information should be made required and which should be made optional.
The benefits of adding an option to enable a Pre-Chat Form are applicable to both sides - the customers and the live chat agents. With the information given by the customer or site visitor through the pre-chat form, agents will be predisposed to relate better with the person on the other side rendering a personalized greeting once connected and building instant rapport.

The name field on the Pre-Chat form automatically populates the visitor’s name on the system, making the queue view of the chat panel from the agent’s side more organized because chat windows are labeled and identified.
