Kimbia Racing gives us a single, highly flexible and scalable solution to efficiently manage a large volume of critical functions and to do it all our way – we never have to compromise our marketing ideas due to the limitations of a vendor’s technology.

Kimbia Racing – which offers the most powerful and flexible event management and online fundraising platform in the marketplace – today announced it has helped kick off the Marathons of Texas series by handling participant registration and more for the MetroPCS® Dallas Marathon™.

On December 9, 25,000 participated in the Dallas Marathon, the first of several winter marathons across the Lone Star State. Formerly known as the Dallas White Rock Marathon, the Dallas Marathon includes a full marathon, half-marathon and five-person relay, and is a qualifier for the prestigious Boston Marathon.

The Dallas Marathon has become one of the nation’s most unique, “can’t miss” events for endurance runners, attracting thousands of registrations every year. Race day features fireworks, confetti and more than 40 bands along the racecourse, providing continuous entertainment for the runners and 350,000-plus spectators. The marathon also offers participating athletes as well as non-athletes the option to fundraise for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, which last year received $1 million in race-related donations.

“The Dallas Marathon is a multi-faceted event – a collection of races attracting dozens of sponsors, tens of thousands of athletes and hundreds of thousands of spectators – with a distinctive ‘personality’ and culture that is continually redefined through the event’s evolution as one of Dallas’ largest, single-day, spectator events,” said Marcus Grunewald, executive director of the Dallas Marathon.

“We like Kimbia Racing because it gives us a single, highly flexible and scalable solution to efficiently manage a large volume of so many critical functions and to do it all our way – we never have to compromise our marketing ideas due to the limitations of a vendor’s technology,” said Grunewald.

Kimbia Racing offers the Dallas Marathon and comparable events:

  •     One platform with all key functionality and features for efficiently managing registration, check-in/packet pick-up and more, no matter the size of the event. The platform even allows a user to add an integrated fundraising component to any event for easy implementation of charitable giving. All registration and fundraising data resides in the single system.
  •     Complete control over all participant data and funds. Every Kimbia client owns its data without restrictions. All data is available and exportable anywhere in real-time – it is never delayed, filtered or used for any purpose outside the client’s control. Also, Kimbia’s system plugs into the client’s existing merchant gateway, so funds are deposited directly into the organization’s bank account and are never held by a third party.
  •     The industry’s most flexible registration forms. Because every organization has different needs, each client can create a registration form: 1) to capture the exact information it wants; and 2) that truly conveys and reinforces its brand. This has been important for the Dallas Marathon, which hosts a variety of events for different types of participants and is currently undergoing a rebranding.
  •     The ability to build and easily maintain a feature-rich, robust website that reflects and strengthens each customer’s brand. Kimbia tools make it a cinch for clients to update their sites instantly without relying on third-party vendors, which can be costly and result in delays.

“We’re proud to partner with the Dallas Marathon which has long been a great event and, in recent years, has been rising in stature on the international race scene,” said Simon Essl, General Manager, Kimbia Racing. “Our solution is a perfect match for the organization and any group producing a large race with many activities and diverse groups of participants.”
