The national chapter of the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES) has announced that Generations Federal Credit Union board member, Leroy Harvey was inducted into the CUES Volunteer Hall of Fame.
The prestigious national award honors individuals who have generously volunteered their time and who have improved their organizations and in turn, their communities. Volunteer Hall of Fame nominees are judged by the CUES Board of Directors panel.
“It’s always an honor to be recognized for doing something that gives me such a sense of professional accomplishment,” said Harvey. “But to be singled out by your peers with such a prestigious award makes it all the more meaningful.”
Harvey retired from the City of San Antonio after more than 28 years of service and launched a consulting business that advises Sheriff’s Departments around the State of Texas on personnel issues. He has served on the Boards and Committees of more than 14 organizations, in addition to his 40 years of service to Generations Federal Credit Union. Harvey currently serves as the Vice Chairman for the Generations FCU Board of Directors.
“Leroy has done so much, not just for credit unions, but for our community as a whole,” said Steve Schipull, president and CEO of Generations Federal Credit Union. “Through his professional and personal efforts, he continues to give back, making our community a better place for everyone. This award is truly fitting.”
