First and foremost, do something that scares you.

The Mayan calendar end is looming and many are wondering what to expect come December 21, 2012. creator and success strategist Dayna Steele has listed suggestions to make this last week on Earth the best - even if it isn’t the end.

“First and foremost, do something that scares you,” says Steele.  “I don’t mean you have to go jumping out of an airplane unless you actually want to.  Run a race, present an innovative idea to your toughest client, ask someone out on a date, take a chance!  You’d be amazed what it will do to help your self-esteem and make your day so much more exciting.”

The ideas presented in the list come from Steele’s latest book,101 Ways to Rock Your World: Everyday Activities For Success Every Day.  Illustrated by Tank McNamara co-creator Bill Hinds, the book serves as a daily jumpstart tool with quick and easy tips to change up an otherwise routine day from predictable to productive.

Just as in her book, Steele doesn’t suggest bucket list items that burn bridges or deplete savings. In one example, she suggests getting in touch with an old friend. By following this advice, explains the author, not only is the friendship renewed but it could mean visiting your friend in a new place, opening doors to new friendships or new work opportunities.  The possibilities are endless.

“My personal favorite from the list is to kiss your significant other like you did the first time,” says Steele.  “So often we take the people closest to us for granted and it only takes this one step start becoming closer to that person again.”
