Sara Moulton Ushers in the New Year with Season Three of Her Award-Winning Show "Sara's Weeknight Meals”

Kitchen tips, recipes and surprises hit public television in January 2, 2013.

America’s favorite home cook, Sara Moulton, announces the premiere of the third season of her award-winning PBS show, “Sara’s Weeknight Meals,” packed with reliable kitchen advice and delicious recipes. With visits from guest chefs and exposure to interesting international cuisines, viewers will enjoy unique lessons that inspire variety in weeknight menus while keeping the process hassle-free.

Season three promises simple kitchen strategies such as preparing multiple meals at once, using common pantry staples to create a gourmet meal on the fly, and using tricks to dodge steps, getting meals on the table faster and smarter. Episodes also include segments with experts, such as farmers who identify seasonal produce, butchers for an insider’s look at grinding meat and purveyors of the best specialty ingredients. With the help of Sara’s knowledgeable step-by-step tutorial, viewers will be more savvy and confident at-home cooks.

Sara is the go-to expert for culinary questions. With a resume that includes host of several Food Network programs, executive chef of Gourmet magazine, food editor of Good Morning America, author of four celebrated cookbooks and weekly AP columnist, Sara’s expertise comes from years of juggling multiple jobs, as well as a full family life.

The new season’s half-hour episodes will include Italian Style cooking with Philly-based Chef and Restaurateur Marc Vetri; “I’m Cheating on You” (where Sara reveals her secrets for getting dinner on the table faster); Asian Flavors with Top Chef contestant and Asian-American Restaurateur Dale Talde; “Remembering Julia” (where Sara pays tribute to her mentor with her favorite Julia Child dishes); “Pantry Raid” (recipes made with pantry staples); and “Turkish Home Cooking”, where Sara travels to Turkey to discover how home cooks use the abundance of natural resources.
