Incorporates natural and man-made obstacles including felled tree trunks, nets, ropes, water hazards and copious amounts of mud!
South Derbyshire (PRWEB UK) 20 December 2012
Regevent.co.uk today announced they have opened entries for a cross-country race where runners are tested to the extreme! This is 10K of sheer hell. The event is run in the grounds of Catton Hall Estate on the border of South Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Catton Hall is a country house situated on the banks of the River Trent. The estate boasts hundreds of acres of parkland and magnificent scenery designed by Humphry Repton in 1788, a renowned garden designer influenced by ‘Capability’ Brown.
This, very unusual, running event takes place on Sunday 3rd February 2013 at 10:30am.
The course is totally off-road and follows a route around the estate. It incorporates natural and man-made obstacles including felled tree trunks, nets, ropes, water hazards and copious amounts of mud! To make the race even harder, the course leads up and down a very steep hill.
Participants are warned that this is not for the fainthearted and they should be ready for a challenge where keeping dry is not an option.
Now, in its third year, the event organiser KP Events, is keen to re-create last year’s race which saw heavy snow and ice added to the mix. Altogether, a challenging and exciting event.
Runners are warned by the organiser that they should expect to get wet and bring with them towels and warm clothing to change into after the event.
Last year’s race was won in a time of 32:32.
Affiliated runners can enter the event at a reduced fee of £14, all other runners pay £16.
More details on how to enter this event can be found at http://regevent.co.uk.
