With the New Year right around the corner, many Angelenos are making the resolution to eat better in 2013. Out of the Box Collective believes eating better and healthier boils down to home cooking with farm fresh, simple ingredients. The farm to table home delivery service makes it easy to transform eating habits by delivering the freshest, most flavorful and nutrient-dense ingredients available, paired with delicious seasonal meal plans and recipes.

Out of the Box Collective founder Jennifer Piette partners with local farmers, ranchers, and artisans, ensuring that their practices are clean and sustainable and that every last veggie, fruit, egg or cut of meat is traceable. Since the food is grown locally, it travels fewer miles from farm to table, so it’s not only fresher and tastes better, it's also more nutritious.

Out of the Box Collective offers many different tempting options for weekly delivery. A box designed for a couple ($180) includes food for five meals, plus fruit and extras such as farm fresh eggs and fair-trade chocolate or spices. A family box ($220) feeds two adults and two kids. Other combinations cater to vegetarians, people with allergies and the weekend cook.

Piette understands that it may be a little intimidating for some, when the seasonal bounty arrives. "Many of our customers are chefs or home cooks who appreciate the amazing quality of the ingredients in the box, but others want a partner in the kitchen, to help them learn what to do with all these beautiful ingredients.” That's why Piette works with notable farm to table chefs to create customized meal plans and recipes that use every ingredient in the box. Customers can also choose from a selection of artisan-made prepared meals for easy weeknight solutions and save cooking for the weekend.

And if less stress is a new year’s resolution, the home delivery service cuts out time stuck in traffic shopping, relieves the burden of figuring out what to buy and what foods to avoid, and is full of recipe ideas so no more opening that fridge door at dinner time wondering what to cook.

Eating this way is also a new year’s gift to the community. By choosing locally produced GMO, pesticide and hormone-free products, customers are voting with their forks to opt out of the industrial food chain by spending their food dollars to support the family farmers and artisanal producers who are not only stewards of the land, but the true heroes of the food revolution.
