The week-long matching challenge generated over $6,500 in donations, bringing TransForm several steps closer to their $75,000 goal.

TransForm, a Bay Area non-profit advocating for public transportation and walkable communities, is closing in on their year-end fundraising goal thanks to a strong week of donations fueled by matching contributions from GJEL Accident Attorneys. The week-long matching challenge generated over $6,500 in donations, bringing TransForm several steps closer to their $75,000 goal.

As part of the matching challenge, GJEL Accident Attorneys made an additional donation to TransForm for each gift received during the week of December 10th. Thanks to the overwhelming response from TransForm’s supporters, the matching challenge raised an additional $1,000 that will be contributed by GJEL.

"The fundraising goal we set for TransForm's 15th Anniversary Campaign means more than a dollar amount,” said Sara Marcellino, Development Director for TransForm. “It means TransForm has the resources we need to be California's leader in the movement to transform transportation in 2013, creating world-class public transportation and walkable communities for everyone.”

“One of the reasons we felt we could stretch and set a robust goal for our end-of-year appeal was because we had GJEL's generous match to utilize last week. And it has truly made a difference."

With a little under two weeks remaining in TransForm’s 15th Anniversary Campaign, the group hopes it can build on the momentum from last week’s matching challenge as the year comes to a close.

The money raised by TransForm will allow the organization to continue carrying out their mission of building diverse coalitions, influencing policy, and developing innovative programs to improve the lives of people within the community.
