This thriller, set in the world of football, is dedicated to the Hillsborough Family Support Group and its Chairman Margaret Aspinall who work tirelessly on behalf of the families of the ninety six people who died following the FA Cup Semi Final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in April 1989.
The author Michael Bearcroft was born in Sheffield where he became a junior footballer with Sheffield United. A successful career in business followed, working in Canada, Germany and the UK, as well as reviving the fortunes of a British Health Insurance company. He became Chairman of a local radio station, a regional director of The British Red Cross, and taught public speaking skills as part of the Youth Enterprise Scheme.
As a complete change Michael trained as a director of musical theatre and went on to win an award for Best Director in the south west. He turned to acting and appeared in numerous TV and film productions including Peak Practice, Casualty, Brum, Ali G the Movie and Dangerfield. He created the murder mystery company Murderous Liaisons, writing the scripts as well as acting in many of the roles. He sold the business after forming the musical theatre production Back to Broadway which has now toured much of the world to great acclaim.
After successfully writing and selling ghost stories, pantomime scripts, and short stories he turned to writing a full length book, and drawing on his love of football and his experiences as a former chairman of Corby Town F.C, before becoming the main sponsor of both Kettering and Rothwell football clubs, he has written his first novel Dangerous Score.
