On December 19, 2012, Quorn Foods Inc. offered their comments on a Daily Meal article by Koya Webb regarding the reasons why you should give meatless meals a try.

According to the Daily Meal article, vegetarian diets are becoming more mainstream, and there are six “vegan revelations” providing the facts and misconceptions about vegetarian and vegan diets and lifestyles. The article states that despite what people think, vegetarian and vegan food is flavorful. The article mentions how “vegan recipes have evolved, and today there is a wealth of vegan fare bursting with flavor, from barbecue classics and chili to lasagna and other Italian favorites that are prepared with a heightened health factor since fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, and seeds are often key ingredients.”

In the article, another reason for going meat-free is that removing meat from your diet proves to be beneficial. The article says that, “Meat quality remains an issue in the marketplace, while issues of toxicity, contamination, and excessive hormones and chemicals abound.” Along with benefiting your health, a vegetarian and vegan diet can benefit the environment, mentions the article.

According to the article, “Organizations like PETA point out that animal agriculture is linked to climate change, water pollution, land degradation, a decline in biodiversity, and that a commercially available animal-based diet uses more land, water, and energy than a strictly vegetarian one.”

Quorn Foods Inc. knows how beneficial meatless meals can be for you. “This article yet again shows just how beneficial a meat free diet can be to your health and the planet as well,” says Quorn Foods representative David Wilson. “If you are a meat lover but want to limit your meat intake, Quorn offers a tasty meat substitute that replicates the taste and texture of real meat.”

Quorn foods launched nationally in the US in 2002. Unlike other vegetarian food companies, Quorn foods use mycoprotein: a naturally occurring, healthy form of protein that replicates the taste and texture of meat while being significantly lower in saturated fats and calories. Quorn foods offer a wide range of products including ready to serve meals, food for your barbecue, breaded meat substitutes, snacks and components to make your own meals from scratch. The wonderful taste of Quorn meatless meals provides the taste of the foods you love without sacrificing nutrition.
