Mattress Delivery Company, Online Bed Quilt, Comments On Donating Mattresses for the Holidays

On December 27, Online Bed Quilt commented on an article posted by WLTX about its viewers donating beds to a struggling anti-poverty organization that wanted to provide more beds for the homeless during the holidays.

The WLTX article stated 12 new beds were donated last week to the [Cooperative Ministry, an organization in Columbia, S.C. dedicated to helping poverty-stricken families. The article said a single anonymous person donated the 12 mattresses. The donations started to roll in after a WLTX report, which detailed ways people could help. Since November, viewers have been donating to assist the ministry. In total, about 30 mattresses were donated since the WLTX report in November.

According to the article, the Cooperative Ministry’s representative Yolanda Green said she saw some cases, where several children had to sleep on one mattress.

"A lot of folks that I see are thankful for something that we all take for granted. A comfortable night's sleep," Green said in the article.

A mattress delivery representative from Online Bed Quilt, Justin Maas, said one of the most basic necessities for a person is sleeping in a bed. “People should not be denied a bed, no matter how limited their means may be,” he said. “Donating beds for the holidays is definitely a very noble thing and we commend those generous WLTX viewers for helping out families in need.”

The article reveals that the donation has been a success so far. Though there is a waiting list to receive a mattress, the Ministry notifies people as soon as a mattress is available for them.
