Being PCI compliant is critical to our operations, and to our clients. We are committed to having the most stringent safeguards and systems in place to process and protect our clients’ data and that of their customers.
St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) December 20, 2012
Kobie Marketing, a recognized leader in the loyalty marketing industry, is pleased to announce that it is successfully certified as compliant with the new PCI-DSS 2.0 standards and has completed an SSAE-16 (SOC-1) Type II examination, formerly the SAS 70 Type II. Both demonstrate the operational effectiveness of the organization’s quality controls, operational practices, hosting services and ability to meet the latest regulatory requirements for secure data operations.
Hundreds of leading financial institutions, retailers and businesses across many industries are facing heightened vulnerability and increased threats in protecting valuable customer data. Kobie Marketing’s PCI recertification of its Kobie Alchemy® technology platform, which processes and stores secure data for some of the world’s leading financial institutions each year, meets the highest possible commercial security standard possible to protect its clients’ data and the customers they serve.
“Data breaches and attacks can cost companies millions of dollars, not to mention bad press, erosion of trust by those affected and customer churn. Being PCI compliant is critical to our operations, and to our clients. We are committed to having the most stringent safeguards and systems in place to process and protect our clients’ data and that of their customers,” said Michael Hemsey, the President of Kobie Marketing. “The PCI recertification is a testament to the hard work of our entire team and continues to demonstrate that our efforts in ‘raising the data-protection bar’ are paying off.”
The PCI-DSS certification on the new 2.0 standard and passing the rigorous third-party examination of our controls as a service organization with the SSAE-16 (SOC 1) Type II review signifies Kobie Marketing’s maturity in data and process management and the integrity of their customer data. SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II is the international standard and demonstrates that Kobie has adequate safeguards in hosting and processing customer data. More specifically, by passing the SSAE-16 (SOC-1) Type II examination, Kobie demonstrated appropriate internal controls are being met for the following activities: Physical Security, Environmental Protection, Computer Operations, Information Security, Application Change Control, Data Communications, Order Processing, Invoicing, Call Center Services, New Client Setup, Reporting and Inventory Control.
“As our company has expanded, so has the amount of sensitive customer data we secure and manage,” said Don Hughes, Chief Information Officer at Kobie Marketing. “Our systems must withstand attacks and data breaches by delivering the highest levels of security protection on our customers’ behalf.”

About SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II
Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II is a widely recognized auditing standard for service organizations to demonstrate they have adequate controls and processes in place. A SSAE-16 (SOC-1) TYPE II examination demonstrates that an independent accounting and auditing firm has reviewed and examined an organization’s control objectives and activities. At the conclusion of the examination, a formal report including the auditor’s opinion is issued to the examined organization.
