VALLEJO, CA (PRWEB) December 21, 2012
The Vallejo Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has announced the launch of a new mobile-friendly version of their website: VisitVallejo.mobi.
“An increasing number of people are using the internet on their phones or tablets,” said Mike Browne, Executive Director of the Vallejo CVB. “In fact, 40% or all travel related web traffic is from mobile devices. And if your website isn’t mobile friendly, people will look to someone else.”
Anyone who enters the Vallejo CVB website in the browser on their phone or tablet will automatically be taken to the new mobile-friendly site. It contains many of the same information as the full site, but it’s formatted to work with mobile devices.
Browne, who headed up the project said the staff at Mobi –Manage did a phenomenal job in getting our site up and running quickly. “The amount of features that they were able to put on this site is really impressive,” said Browne.
Features include utilizing GEO location services for a “What’s near my location” button that shows users what lodging, restaurants or attractions are nearest to them. Other functionalities available are an extensive special events calendar, with Google mapping and click to call and a transportation button.
“This new mobile site launches just in time for the holidays as our gift to visitors to the Vallejo area as well as the local community,” said Browne. “We sincerely hope they all take advantage of the information available and accessible to them.”
