The holidays can be a time to celebrate all the blessings of the previous year – or a stark reminder of what’s missing. Some families have trouble putting enough food on the table on a daily basis, and the pressure of the holidays can make that even more difficult. A staggering one in five Texans struggle with hunger; many people are unaware that their friends and neighbors next door may be wondering where their next meal will come from.

SaveEveryday.com – the family savings program that helps hard-working families save money while serving as a fundraiser for schools and charities – has partnered with the North Texas Food Bank on their brand new Feed Texas program with the goal to provide 1 million meals to families in need.

"We are especially grateful for the community’s support at this critical time when so many North Texans are struggling to put food on the table," said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. "The holiday season reminds us not only of the generosity of our community, but also of the incredible amount of need that still exists. We are thankful to have partners like SaveEveryday.com alongside us as we strive for a hunger-free community during this season and every day throughout the year."

The program is the first of its kind: “It combines a national savings program with a turn key fundraiser for offices and community groups,” said Save Everyday spokesperson Chris Simpson, who stressed that “each membership sold provides 30 meals for local families in need.”

Their are four ways people can help: donate directly to the North Texas Food Bank, volunteer, purchase a membership from Feed Texas or donate at our Indiegogo page.
