Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces announces a newly designed bespoke luxury destination experience; the “Margazhi in Madras” package celebrating the legendary Margazhi festivals of Chennai.

This package includes exclusive passes to a music concert or dance recital, a lavish meal at the iconic Southern Spice and an enriching dinner conversation with a renowned musician and dancer about the rich history of the Margazhi season. A two-night stay in a newly renovated Luxury Room starts at Rs 20,000 per room and also includes a traditional welcome and drink on arrival, transfers, 20% discount on food and beverages, use of swimming pool / steam / gymnasium and complimentary laundry. The exclusive Club Rooms start at Rs 27,000 for two nights.

Every December 15 to January 15, the city of Chennai comes alive with the Margazhi Music and Dance season, where more than 1,500 musicians and dancers from across the world come together in Chennai to pay tribute to India’s rich cultural legacy. With a history of over 80 years, this season comprises a series of spectacular classical music concerts and spell-binding dance recitals at various venues across the city. The performances include all styles in the Indian classical genre like Carnatic and Hindustani music, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipuddi, Kathak, Kathakali, Odissi and more.
