At this time of year and with all of the sadness that the last few weeks have brought, we simply felt that we had to do something for children in Philadelphia, said Carl Dranoff, president of Dranoff Properties.

Dranoff Properties, a premier residential property group, held today the “Ride of the Santas,” highlighting its distinctive Bike Share Program while bringing holiday joy to children in need. Led by a horse-drawn carriage (Donated by 76 Carriage Company), which was filled with “toys and goodies,” 15 volunteers dressed as Santa Claus biked from Dranoff Properties’ headquarters at 777 S. Broad Street to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, where they delivered hundreds of toys to be distributed to foster children living at Casa del Carmen at 5th and Cayuga Streets in North Philadelphia. Operated by Catholic Social Services, this foster care home also serves 37 preschool day care children from the local community as well as an additional 45 elementary school aged youth in an afterschool program.

“At this time of year and with all of the sadness that the last few weeks have brought, we simply felt that we had to do something for children in Philadelphia,” said Carl Dranoff, president of Dranoff Properties. “Every child needs a reason to believe and every child should feel loved at the holidays. When we heard about the foster children of Casa del Carmen in North Philadelphia, it was the perfect opportunity for Dranoff to give back. This city has been our inspiration and the backdrop for all we do. We are part of this community and we are thrilled to be able to bring a little joy to these deserving children on Christmas morning.”

In addition to its toy donation, Dranoff Properties also donated $1,000 to Catholic Social Services, which will be used for any last minute requests and needs prior to Christmas.
