Ko'olau Ballrooms & Conference Center, located in Kaneohe, Hawaii has announced the winners of their Dream Wedding and Reception Contest.

Koʻolau Ballrooms & Conference Center, located in Kaneohe on the windward side of the Island of Oahu, has announced the winning couple in its recent Dream Wedding and Reception Contest valued at $8,200.

The couple is Noly Tengonciang and Amy-Ni Nguyen, who wrote a short romantic essay about their lives together, which was then put on the Koʻolau Ballrooms Facebook site with essays by other couples for judging by site visitors. Tengonciang and Nguyen live in San Diego, California.

The wedding essay contest will be held again next spring in conjunction with the Center’s upcoming Bridal Open House on March 21, 2013. Since its very successful inaugural showing in August of 2012, Koʻolau Ballrooms will now begin hosting two bridal open house events annually at which dozens of the state’s top vendors are invited to participate, interact with, and offer wedding-related services directly with couples in a festive but relaxed and personal atmosphere.

Situated on 242 acres of forest conservation land adjacent to the Koʻolau Mountains, the site includes the Koʻolau Golf Course as well as the conference and events center. The Center offers two beautifully renovated ballrooms, the Grand Ballroom which holds up to 850 people and the Glass Ballroom with its sheer elegance and scenic panoramic views, which accommodates up to 250 people. Additionally, this windward event center offers seminar and conference meeting rooms, banquet facilities, and complete culinary and catering services, serving a variety of cuisines, audio-visual services and ample, free, and easy parking.

Though both outdoor and indoor weddings make up a large number of its events, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Daryl Akiyoshi emphasizes that Koʻolau Ballrooms & Conference Center’s unique and remote environment, an oasis only a short drive from downtown Honolulu and Waikiki, is especially well-suited for small or larger business and corporate conferences, workshops, training seminars, retreats and staff luncheons.

Koʻolau Ballrooms & Conference Center is also the venue for social events such as banquets, birthdays and holiday parties; proms, graduations, class reunions, and Project Grads; and fundraisers and concerts. The Center also extends its expertise outside of the facility’s walls by providing offsite catering as well.

Koʻolau Ballrooms and Conference Center is located at 45-550 Kionaole Road in Kaneohe, about a 15-minute drive from either downtown Honolulu via Pali Highway, from Aiea via H-3, or from Kalihi via Likelike Highway.
