True relationships are worth dedication and are valuable

In her new children’s bookThe Dog and the Bird: The Adventures of Desie” (published by Trafford Publishing), author Jonae Randau tells the story of an unusual friendship between a dog and a wild bird.

Desie is a small dog who lives in a small apartment. Throughout the story, her unlikely friendship with a robin unfolds in a colorful and delightful tale for young readers. Although their relationship defies explanation and goes against common assumptions, Desie and the bird share a rare connection built on compassion and care for each other. Desie’s innocence unknowingly leads her to act against her natural instincts and protect her feathered friend.

An excerpt from “The Dog and the Bird”:

“As Desi danced back and forth the wagging of her tail would confirm at last the return of her feathered friend. The longer the bird sat above the small patio above in the dense part of the tree, the more Desi the small black dog would become more and more mesmerized, not taking her eyes off the singing bird. Each day with her head lifted heavenly for a quick glimpse of her winged friend.”

Randau hopes her book passes on the lesson of the value of friendship to readers. “True relationships are worth dedication and are valuable,” she says.
