Jupiter, Fla. (PRWEB) December 22, 2012
Homes for sale in Palm Beach County have rebounded, real-estate experts are saying.
The cheery news that was released the week prior to the biggest holiday of the year shows sustained strength in property sales all along the Gold Coast, as prices of single-family homes have shot up by double digits.
Compared to 2011, today’s $219,500 median price is almost 20-percent higher, according to the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches.
Sales statistics also spiked in the double digits. In November of 2012, more than 1,100 homes were sold in Palm Beach County, a 15-percent jump from November of 2011.
Barb Kozlow, the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches’ president-elect, said while the numbers are good, they are finicky because they pave the way for both a buyers’ and a sellers’ market.
Buyers want to invest now that the market is in full-recovery mode, Kozlow said, and sellers’ homes are getting snapped up as soon as the hit the Multiple Listing Service. Mirasol homes for sale are a perfect example of the dual-market phenomenon, agents at Waterfront Properties and Club Communities say.
Another interesting statistic released by the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches has to do with the number of homes for sale in places including Evergrene, a Palm Beach Gardens development off Alternate A1A. Between November of 2011, and November of 2012, the number of listed properties plunged 43 percent. The inventory-shrink amounts to about 6,500 homes available for purchase in the county.
The National Association of Realtors released its report the same day as the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches and said the median price of a single-family dwelling clocks in at $180,600, a 10.1-percent gain from the same period last year.
