Hondros College presented the Distinguished Nursing Faculty Award, the Excellence in Customer Service Award, the Hondros College - Nursing Programs Award and the Margaret Hondros Award on December 18, 2012, during the college’s 2012 Annual Meeting in Westerville, Ohio.
Carol Thomas, president, nursing programs said, “I am so proud of our nursing team at Hondros College. Our 2012 award recipients deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication to our mission. I am honored to work with them, and I look forward to another successful year in 2013.”
The 2012 Distinguished Nursing Faculty Award represents an individual who consistently promotes excellence in the classroom and beyond. This award was presented to Dr. Mark Hopkin, a member of the general education faculty at the Westerville, Ohio, campus. Dr. Hopkin was honored for his first-rate interaction with his students and colleagues across the state. He has been a positive ambassador of the school since joining the Hondros College faculty in 2009.
The 2012 Excellence in Customer Service Award represents an individual who responds quickly and efficiently to assist others. They put the students, as well as their colleagues’ needs before their own, thereby helping to increase the value of the organization as a whole. This award was presented to Brenda Aveyard, the assistant director of admissions. Aveyard, who has been with Hondros College since 2009 and works with admissions staff members across Ohio, was honored as an individual who consistently stretches above and beyond for Hondros College’s students and her colleagues.
The 2012 Hondros College - Nursing Programs Award represents an individual who demonstrates outstanding leadership and guidance in the Hondros College – Nursing Programs throughout the last year. This award was presented to Wendy Beahn, accreditation manager at the corporate office in Westerville, Ohio. Beahn leads by example, provides a positive outlook, is insightful and provides direction and service to others. Wendy Beahn has been with Hondros College since 2006.
The 2012 Margaret Hondros Award represents an individual who helps Hondros College achieve great results through both individual accomplishments and through the visible leadership they provide. This award was presented to Elizabeth “Beth” Pippin, executive director of the College’s Fairborn Campus. Pippin was recognized as a special person who helps the business achieve great results through operational excellence and a dedication to her students. Pippin recognizes the abilities of others and then teaches and inspires her fellow associates. She has been with Hondros College since 2009.
