I love working with the Darlene Head and the Veteran’s Center. They helped me get into this career and provided me with so many opportunities, it’s nice to be able to give back to make sure Veterans can take full advantage of the benefits they've earned.

Salt Lake Community College has been named one of the top-12 two-year colleges in the country for Veterans by Military Times EDGE Magazine. The publication ranked SLCC 12th overall in the country for veterans on the basis of the factors found to be most important to veterans with an emphasis on academic accreditation, central veterans' offices and staff knowledgeable on veterans' issues.
Additional criteria for the award included: cost per credit, participation in the Yellow Ribbon veterans scholarship program, veteran-friendly residency policy, and veteran graduation and student loan default rates.
“I love working with the Darlene Head and the Veteran’s Center,” SLCC graduate and Upper Limit Aviation helicopter flight instructor Ramsay Campbell said. “They did so much to help me get into this career and provided me with so many opportunities, it’s nice to be able to give back to make sure Veterans can take full advantage of the benefits they’ve earned.”
The College was also listed for the fourth consecutive year as 'Military Friendly' by the publication GI Jobs, a national publication that provides information on how military professionals can make the transition to civilian employment.
“To receive this award again this year is a wonderful recognition of the quality service Salt Lake Community College is able to provide for veterans,” said Darlene Head, Director of the SLCC Veterans Center. “We are so proud to again be one of the top-performing schools in the country in meeting the needs of veterans. We are also grateful for the support of college administration and the Utah State Legislature that enables us to do this important work.”
