On December 25, 2012, travel company, Surf Patch, responded to a Maui Now article by Wendy Osher, regarding Kahului Airport expanding their airport security checkpoints to help passengers flyclear of long waits.
According to the Maui Now article, Kahului Airport expanded a security checkpoint lane to accommodate 3 more people than the original lane. The article stated that, “State transportation officials say the added capacity will help to reduce the wait time for air travelers, along with travel-related stress and anxiety.”
The article explained that the expansion only took seven months in order to get ready for the hectic holiday travel period. The expansion will reduce the wait times on security checkpoint lines, helping passengers flyclear of hassle this holiday season.
Travel company Surf Patch responded to the article with their thoughts and comments on the article. “This is a good idea, expanding the lane to fit nine people instead of the usual six will surely increase the flow through checkpoints,” says world traveler Takara Licausi. “Hopefully more airports will try an expand their security checkpoints so more people could travel without the hassle.”
