The Rally for Notre Dame scholarships is to help pay forward to current and future Notre Dame students the benefits we received from those who supported us. The Rally will allow the Notre Dame family to gather in Florida for that purpose.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) December 27, 2012

Demonstrating the value of teamwork and charity learned on the playing fields of Notre Dame, a cross section of Notre Dame athletes and coaches have created a new team. This team Irish Player Charities will support a social media presence dedicated to shine to spotlight ongoing philanthropic efforts by those who have been part of the Notre Dame athletics programs.

In their altruistic nature of Notre Dame athletes, their first event will not seek to financially benefit their specific causes, but instead is a Rally to raise money and visibility for Notre Dame local club scholarships across the nation.

Rick Mirer, one of the founders of Irish Player Charities explained the events purpose as follows: "The Rally for Notre Dame scholarships is to help pay forward to current and future Notre Dame students the benefits we received from those who supported us. The Rally will allow the Notre Dame family to gather in Florida for that purpose."

On January 5, 2013, Notre Dame fans, friends and family will have a change to mingle with Notre Dame athletes from the past decades including retired NFL players Tony Rice, Rick Mirer, Reggie Brooks, John Carney, Derrick Mayes and Shawn Wooden. Current NFL players who will be present include Kansas City Chief Brady Quinn and Miami Dolphin Anthony Fasano. Other players will attend list, but the NFL playoff schedule will determine the availability of many. Daily updates on newly added players can be found on Irish Player Charities Facebook and Twitter feeds (@NDPlayerCharity).

Attendees will all receive a special edition Adidas shirt with the logo “ALL IN”. This new shirt is being worn by the Notre Dame team in connection with the Florida trip and is not yet available to the public. Adidas will also be providing a special Notre Dame themed back-drop for photographs and will have media crews on hand to document the event.

Attendees will also have a chance to win one of many great raffle prizes including 2 tickets to the ND-Alabama game, a full-size current Notre Dame autographed helmet, and other autographed memorabilia.

Television, radio and print media will be covering the Rally. For further information, media members should contact Mike Keliher at mike(at)keliherconsulting(dot)com
