Rick VandenBoom has been named global vice president of sales and marketing at Coherix, Inc.
Coherix is a pioneer in the development of advanced and powerful 3D visualization solutions to improve the quality and reliability of powertrain manufacturing processes where precision is required.
A native of Michigan, VandenBoom began his career in electrical engineering at Control Engineering in Pellston, Mich., and went on to hold positions as an application engineer and project manager at SI Handling Systems in Rochester, Mich., and ABB Flexible Automation in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
He joined Perceptron in Plymouth, Mich., as an account manager for the company's Chrysler account in 1995 and also has held senior management positions at Michigan-based; CogniTens in Wixom, and FriCSo (Frictional Control Solutions) in Farmington Hills.
"Rick VandenBoom has more than 25 years of experience in machine vision, material handling and metrology in the global automotive, heavy-duty transportation and aerospace industries," said Dwight Carlson, the company's chairman and CEO. "He's a team player with outstanding global leadership skills."
VandenBoom holds a degree in electronics engineering technology from the National Institute of Technology. He lives in Lake Orion.
