January is National Train Your Dog Month® and Groovy Cats & Dogs is offering a unique dog training class focused on social skills - class developed by Amy Weeks and Elaine Rinicker, two Tampa area dog trainers - to promote dog training as an ongoing part of dog ownership.

Dog Relationship Issues

I'm so glad Amy and Elaine are working together to offer this class to Tampa dog owners. This class provides the tools and resources dog owners need so they can handle their dog with confidence and enjoy taking their dog out in social settings.

Each January, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers promotes National Train Your Dog Month® by offering a series of events and online resources geared toward making dog training a part of everyday life for dog owners. This January, Amy’s Canine Kindergarten, Happy Urban Dog and Groovy Cats & Dogs are teaming up to provide a unique dog training class to commemorate National Train Your Dog Month®.

To celebrate and promote National Train Your Dog Month®, local dog trainers Amy Weeks and Elaine Rinicker are collaborating to offer a special 4-week class curriculum focusing on social skills for dogs. The two trainers will work together to provide a special emphasis on social skills. For example, students will learn to read their dog’s body language as well as other dogs that their dog may come into contact with so they can avoid problems in social settings before they get out of control.

Yvonne Guibert, owner of Groovy Cats & Dogs said, “I’m so glad Amy and Elaine are working together to offer this class to Tampa dog owners. We come into contact every day with dog owners who don’t take their dogs out socially because they are embarrassed by their dog’s behavior or are afraid their dog will misbehave. This class provides the tools and resources dog owners need so they can handle their dog with confidence and enjoy taking their dog out in social settings.”

Social Networking With Your Dog class will also include:

  • Brushing up on basic manners
  • Reliable recalls
  • Polite greetings
  • Proper introductions to children
  • Real world practice in everyday social settings

Class starts Saturday, Jan 12 at 10am at Groovy Cats & Dogs located at 2305 W Linebaugh Ave., Tampa, FL 33612. Cost is $110 per handler / dog for 4 weeks. Each class lasts one hour. The class is suitable for dogs of all breeds and ages. Class space is limited. Call Happy Urban Dog 813-817-9891 or Amy’s Canine Kindergarten 813-785-9159 to secure your dog’s spot in class.
