“We cannot wait for our guests to see this spectacular feat of artistry,” said General Manager, Connie Russell. “It really captures the winter spirit of Maine and we are planning on making it a cold-season tradition at the resort.”

Rockland, ME (PRWEB) December 31, 2012

Samoset Resort, a classic resort in mid-coast Maine, will be debuting a first for the resort – a bar and lounge created entirely out of ice. Inspired by the original ice bars and lounges in Scandinavia, “FROST” Ice Bar and Lounge will be a glistening, outdoor frozen fantasy land. FROST will be premiering to guests and visitors on January 18th and be open until January 27th.

“We cannot wait for our guests to see this spectacular feat of artistry,” said General Manager, Connie Russell. “It really captures the winter spirit of Maine and we are planning on making it a cold-season tradition at the resort.”

A talented team of ice sculptures and designers have been assembled at the resort and have begun the preparations that include carving and assembling 300-pound blocks of ice using chisels and chainsaws. Everything in this cold sensory environment, with the exception of the crackling fire pit and faux fur cushions, will be crafted out of ice. FROST will feature a 15-foot ice bar, an ice luge, ice seats, ice couches, ice tables, ice stools, life-size ice sculptures, an ice skating rink and even glasses made out of ice.
