Recently the largely Republican plan for a gas pipeline from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico was blocked by the White House, if only for a short time. With this latest development in the on-going battle over fuel prices and natural resources, it is easy to predict that gas prices will only rise. Because of this more and more people are driving less and shopping from the comfort and security of their homes than ever before. With average prices at the pump above $3 a gallon, filling up is causing American consumers increasing pain in the pocketbook.
