A chic, modern, and peaceful Islam on a t-shirt islamic t-shirts is a unique fashion start-up that designs islamic t-shirts. It's colourful, funny, and sometimes provocative t-shirts have been popularly received by young Muslims across the world with over 130,000 facebook fans.

"The response to our brand has been overwhelmingly positive. In particular, we were surprised by the interest shown from people in Muslim countries" said Ammar Khan, co-founder of the company. "We have fans from over 20 countries and the exciting thing is that most of our fans are under 25. People seem as excited about rebranding Islam as we are."

DesignMolvi operates solely as an online retail website - a groundbreaking move in the still-digitalising Middle Eastern and Subcontinental markets it operates in. It's online store offers 26 printed slogans on a range of t-shirts, hoodies, and polo-shirts. It's Facebook page reaches out to over 300,000 people weekly and replies to daily posts can sometimes range in the hundreds.

"Our Facebook page is more than just an advertising platform,' said Ibrahim Khan, marketing director of the company, 'we've created a community on there for people to engage with us about our work and have conversation that perhaps they're not able to have publicly in the countries they live in. We design all our t-shirts with the ethos of being conversation-starters. We want to create dialogue."

Design Molvi's Muslim t-shirts create dialogue in different areas and range from the friendly "Smile it's Sunnah" and "Jesus, Moses, Muhammed - 3 Prophets 1 Mission", to the funny "Muslim Fun-damentalist" and the t-shirt designed for the airport "I'm a tourist, not a terrorist!". Then there are the more provocative and topical designs like "Terrorism hijacked my religion" and the arab revolution slogan: "Born Muslim Born Free".

'The 21st Century Muslim’s awakening came as the first of the planes crashed into the twin towers. Ever since then it has been a global struggle to stand up and clear Islam’s name,' explained Ibrahim Khan. 'This is why DesignMolvi came into being. Our purpose is to reach out to as many people - Muslim or otherwise - with the truth about Islam."

About Design Molvi was founded by three university students who were spurred into action by the incessantly negative potrayal of Muslims in the media. Starting from a shoestring budget and working out of a bedroom, the company have now got a dedicated printing facility and are setting up operations in Pakistan and the Middle East.
