Ethosource used office furniture teams up with Illuminations Incorporated to provide creative office furniture solutions.

When a world-class lighting company in Greater Philadelphia needed creative office furnishing solutions for their new offices, EthoSource was the obvious choice. “Illuminations produces creative lighting solutions,” says Matt Nuding of EthoSource, “and EthoSource produces creative office furniture solutions.”

Both companies are known for producing trendy, unique, sophisticated designs for their clients.

Illuminations Incorporated is not a typical lighting company selling lamps for homes and offices. They’re an enterprise level company creating lighting design. They undertake enormous installations like the Market Street Bridge in Harrisburg, year round lighting creations for Boathouse Row, and public artworks like the "Evolving Face of Nursing" mural on Broad and Vine in Philadelphia.

When Illuminations moved into their new building, they had some clear goals. They wanted their new space to allow for the creative collaboration needed to get big ideas working. They wanted to provide a great showcase for their lighting. Naturally, they also wanted an energy-efficient solution.

Illuminations Incorporated turned to EthoSource. Recognizing in EthoSource the same combination of creativity and detail-oriented project management that lets Illuminations Incorporated create lighting solutions on the grand scale, they brought EthoSource designers in to create a new workspace.

EthoSource takes a full service approach to office furniture. Their office furniture management services handle everything from space planning and design, to delivery and installation of the office furniture.

EthoSource was able to source pre-owned cubicles that would work perfectly for Illuminations Incorporated’s needs, saving money and energy. Not only does recycling office furniture and cubicles save the energy required to produce the steel for new products, but it also saves the energy involved in importing new office furniture. Using recycled cubicles can save as much as 93% of the energy compared with new furniture, and 70% of the cost.

Saving all those resources doesn’t require compromise.

“The quality is excellent -- beyond our expectation,” said Barbara Lyngarkos of Illuminations Incorporated. The cubicles chosen for the installation were light colored neutral workstations and cubicles from the top quality Herman Miller Ethospace range. The light colors, glass panels, and lower heights, said Lyngarkos, “give a very open feel. Everybody doesn't feel penned in, as they used to.”

Large work surfaces and an open configuration allow lots of natural light from the windows surrounding the workroom. The feeling of the room is conducive to creative work.

So was the process. “There was absolutely no stress whatsoever on this job," said Lyngarkos.
