New App Enables BroadWorks’ Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Tools

RIIS, LLC, an IT consulting firm specializing in application development, today announced the release of a new Android app called Front Office Assistant. The new app provides an efficient way for businesses to manage the automated attendant functions of their IVR system using an Android tablet.

Front Office Assistant enables BroadWorks Automated Attendant tools from BroadSoft, Inc. With Front Office Assistant, businesses can quickly and easily deploy the automated attendant functions that provide callers with professional greeting and call routing options that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

“BroadWorks’ tools help small and medium-sized businesses run more efficiently,” said Godfrey Nolan, president of RIIS. “But setting up and managing the IVR trees is a challenge for communication services administrators. The Front Office Assistant Android app combines the touch user experience and mobility of a tablet device to make deployment easier. It’s a good example of how tablet computing is moving from B-to-C use, to use in B-to-B enterprise applications.”

With the Front Office Assistant Android app, businesses can use tablet computing to set up and manage automated attendants without IT involvement. Simple drop-down menus and on/off controls enable administrators to offer callers custom greetings, message options, the ability to connect to specific people or transfer to other departments. Users can set up PBX systems and easily create scenarios for call routing based on business hours, after hours, on weekends or holidays.

“Front Office Assistant allows small businesses to quickly update their auto attendants without IT support,” says Nolan. “With minimal training, users can manage call routing options, professional greetings, even skill-based routing for call centers, all on an Android tablet.”

Nolan adds, “Our clients are taking advantage of how tablet computing is driving the use of mobile apps for business, through both iPad and Android tablet applications that meet their business needs.”

In October, 2011, RIIS released the first version of the Front Office Assistant app for the iPad. Future development plans include new apps for both Android tablets and iPads that provide functionality for hunt groups, call log displays and scheduling for IVR administration.
