It's no secret most trips begin and end without incident but for the 15% or so of travelers each year that suffers a ruined trip travel safety is no joke.
"Trip Sentry solves the problem of getting high quality, relevant advice to travelers completely," said Co-Founder Adam Sculthorpe, "our new search engine allows travelers to easily get advice from trusted sources and set up travel safety alerts for any destination in just a few seconds," continued Sculthorpe.
The new travel search engine also has a member portal allowing travelers to configure alerts for multiple destinations and set up departure notes to be sent out just before a trip begins.
“We've already delivered travel safety advice to people in more than 403 Cities, most of them in Europe and North America but quite a few in Southeast Asia too. I’m very pleased with the feedback we’ve had so far but we have a way to go yet, it's early days,” said Sculthorpe.
“Getting new and amended travel safety advice to travelers is just the tip of the iceberg for travel search, we have some really interesting opportunities ahead of us with the technology we’ve developed. We're not the only start-up pursuing travel search but thanks to lessons learned from Steve Blank, Eric Ries and Derek Sivers we're lean, agile, listening to our customers and continuously adding value in innovative ways,” he said.
As far as business is concerned Trip Sentry’s plan seems to be grounded in developing relationships with travel industry leaders seeking to lower ad costs and reach a targeted audience. According to Sculthorpe "We're discussing partnership opportunities with several travel insurance companies, agents, and content networks and we're making sure it's in their interests to help us succeed."
