As spiritual hunger and disquietude sweeps the world, God remains the ultimate source of inspiration and peace. Carol S. Wright reveals God’s unwavering greatness in her life in poetic form. She compiles her poetry in “God, You Are Healing for My Soul (Words Straight from the Heart)”.
The poems in Wright’s collection allow a glimpse into the ebb and flow of her life. The reading experience encompasses several chapters that are imbued with different themes. In the first one, “I Learned to Accept Me”, Wright reminds readers how God created them to be wonderful and important; she celebrates the beauty of relationships, family and love in the chapters: “The Importance of Family”, “When One Finds the Right Relationship, the One of God” and “Real Friends will Not Lead You Down the Wrong Path, Friends”. The poems in “Depression” have a distinct melancholic twist and delve into issues like abuse and emotional turmoil. Lastly, in the final chapter, “Sometimes, We Have To Stop and Just Pick Ourselves Up” she shares verses that are motivational and filled with hope.
Of her poetry and book, Wright shares, “Someone might say the poems are a conversation with God, a form of prayer. My hope is that everyone who reads this book will find their way back to God the Creator.” With that, she invites readers to partake of “God, You Are Healing for My Soul (Words Straight from the Heart)” and embark on an uplifting journey of the heart, mind and spirit.
