Concept Searching Adds Features to Information Governance Model

This version of the Concept Searching product suite incorporates substantial enhancements in scalability, usability and migration capability.

Concept Searching’s Smart Content Framework™ is a toolset, built around the award winning conceptClassifier product, that provides clients with an enterprise framework to mitigate risk, automate processes, manage information, ensure privacy and address compliance issues, thereby supporting a client’s information governance model. This is accomplished at a more basic level with the ability to transparently tag content, classify to organizational taxonomies, preserve and protect information through the automatic identification of records and privacy data, and act as a migration tool.

Adding additional capabilities to the information governance model incorporated into the Smart Content Framework™, the new features add more granularity to address the needs of a broader customer base, as well as better meet the needs of our current clients. New features announced with this release include:

The scalability of conceptTaxonomyManager has been significantly improved, to meet the requirements of customers running extremely large taxonomies, which can comprise hundreds of thousands of terms, and millions of classification clues. The scalability benefits of now running both large and small taxonomies are increased speed and the use of considerably less memory:

  •     conceptTaxonomyManager has been tested with taxonomies in excess of 250,000 preferred terms and over 2,000,000 non preferred terms.
  •     Classification operations are significantly faster and more efficient in their use of memory. Reclassification rates in production environments are now in excess of 5 million documents per day.
  •     Running natively as a FAST Pipeline Stage, conceptClassifier also performs faster and with increased scalability.

Concept Searching has always had one of the most intuitive and time saving taxonomy management products available on the market. Increased usability benefits have been added to conceptTaxonomyManager, making the product even more convenient and faster to use:

  •     Automatic creation of terms from automatically generated clues reduces time and improves consistency.
  •     Improved creation of clue types from a multi-value pick list control reduces time.
  •     Easier use of languages ties to class from a multi-value pick list control.
  •     Simpler creation of class boosting using a multi-value pick list tree view control.
  •     “New Working Set Feature” provides an easy-to-use ability to specify a defined set of documents to work on for a specific class.
  •     Easier bulk editing feature enabling a single interface to edit multiple values reduces time.

conceptTaxonomyWorkflow is unique in its ability to use taxonomy and metadata to drive document action, such as identify and tag documents of record, and lock down sensitive information driving compliance, in line with a client’s Information Governance Model. Enhanced migration capability has been built into conceptTaxonomyWorkflow, which integrates with conceptTaxonomyManager, allowing users to easily, quickly, and cost-effectively use automatically generated metadata to drive a document workflow, resulting in documents being automatically moved from one file share to another or from one file share to SharePoint.
