Reince Priebus, chairman of the Republican National Committee, appeared on The George Jarkesy Radio Show last week to discuss the Party’s efforts to defeat President Barack Obama in this year’s elections. The show, which airs on the Wall Street Business Network on AM/FM radio, also streams live on http://www.georgejarkesy.com. The interview, which took place the day after the President’s State of the Union Address, took aim at the unfulfilled promises of the Obama Administration three years into his term. Mr. Priebus derided the President for delivering “the same speech,” while noting that it was easy to anticipate the contents of the speech days in advance due to knowing “every trick that the President has.” He stressed the importance of defeating the President in 2012, adding that his impetus to become RNC Chairman was his feeling that if we have “one more term of this President, we lose America.”
He also discussed the making of the RNC’s post-State of the Union ad, “Familiar Rhetoric, Failed Record.” According to Priebus, the RNC had already saved excerpts from the 2010 and 2011 speeches, and upon receiving a transcript of the 2012 speech, they saw the “same lines” and “same themes.” He also mentioned that the President even used “the same facial expressions,” which are captured in the ad – an ad that eventually went viral on the Internet. The ad is available on YouTube.
