Christie McKee Appointed CCEE Director of Online Learning

William Coffin, Chairman of California Council on Economic Education (CCEE), the leading provider of economic and financial literacy to California K–12 teachers and students announced today the appointment of Christie McKee as Director of Online Learning.

Ms. McKee will be responsible for a major expansion effort and transition of award-winning CCEE programs to a much expanded online web-based environment. This new learning platform will provide: 24/7 learning functionality, program scalability to a greater number of teachers and students, pre- and post-testing, and financial literacy games and contests for students.

“CCEE’s mission is to provide the best economics and financial literacy training to California’s K–12 teachers and students,” said Mr. Coffin. “With Christie’s contribution, 400,000 teachers and 6 million students we will better access to this critical knowledge with a state-of-the-art, web-based platform.”

Prior to joining CCEE, Ms. McKee has been an educational consultant to schools and school districts, designing and delivering training in mathematics and language arts curriculum. She is a credentialed teacher, has taught K–8 Math, and is completing her studies to receive a Ph.D. in Instructional Design for Online Learning.

“It is an honor to be part of this outstanding organization that provides such an important service to students as they prepare to be contributing citizens in the global economy,” said Ms. McKee. “I look forward to guiding CCEE to a new web-based platform.”
