nGenx had an independent firm, Brightline CPA's, perform it's examination for the SSAE No. 16 SOC 1 Type 2 exam. This exam has replaced the former SAS 70 certification.

nGenx is pleased to announce its completion of the SOC 1 (formerly SAS 70) examination for the period of January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. The independent firm, Brightline CPA’s & Associates, performed the SSAE No. 16 Type 2 (Statement for Attestation Engagements) examination.

“By engaging an independent CPA to examine and report on our controls, we are better equipped to respond to the needs of our partners and customers while obtaining an objective evaluation” said Robert A. Bye, President of nGenx. Bye also states that “proper management of operational and internal controls is crucial to the health of any cloud service providers infrastructure”.

The AICPA has established three Service Organization Control (SOC) reporting options. nGenx passed the SOC 1 Type 2, Reporting on Controls at a Service Organization (also known as SSAE 16). With data centers and cloud services gaining popularity and scrutiny the SSAE No. 16 examination, as of mid-2011, has superseded the pre-existing SAS 70 Audit Standard, sources say.

“As we work with our Channel Partners and ISV’s to build and launch more cloud solutions we feel that we must maintain the highest design sustainability and operating effectiveness required by the Type 2 examination” said David Gibson, Chief Operating Office of nGenx.

nGenx has passed an independent examination of this nature for five consecutive years and plans to continue this practice in future years.
