When the midday munchies strike, most folks head to the vending machine for something salty or sweet – maybe a caffeine blast – to help power them through the rest of the workday. A new service offered by A&M Equipment Sales, Inc., an Atlanta-area vending equipment dealer, has turned that idea on its ear, offering up bite-sized podcasts that can help vending operators build and expand their businesses.

“The Vending Business Show is the first of its kind,” explained Joe Nichols, owner of A&M Equipment Sales. “Any vendor with Internet access can now download the podcasts and in 10 minutes or less, learn from industry experts how to service customers, build loyalty and increase revenues. They can download in the evening and even listen as they travel to customer sites, so there’s not even any downtime for the education.”

The Vending Business Show is a series of podcasts on A&M Equipment’s website, http://www.amequipmentsales.com/blog/category/vending-business-show/. Essentially, these are 10-minute educational interviews that discuss the nuts and bolts of the vending business; current podcasts cover everything from the best ways to organize warehouse space and delivery trucks, to marketing at individual machines, to post-sale care for new and existing customers.

Without requiring sign-up fees or even asking visitors to give up their e-mail addresses in order to listen, A&M Equipment is providing a truly unique service. “The goal is to educate vending operators and middle managers, bringing specific industry expertise – which would normally cost them thousands, not to mention the time required – to their individual operations,” Nichols said.
