In his new science fiction novel “Pathway to Destruction” (published by AuthorHouse), William Potter imagines the ultimate bitter end to humanity’s time on Earth. From under the rubble of the ultimate destruction of a nuclear holocaust, humanity’s struggling survivors cling to life and flee to space aboard an advanced space station.
900 years after humans nearly brought their own race to extinction, Sean Thorn’s entire family of farmers on Jupiter Lunar Four is killed during an air raid by the Alliance in their quest for absolute power in a post-Earth world reaches even the most peaceful regions of civilization.
Sean is devastated by the senseless death of his family. He becomes a merciless killing machine hell-bent on revenge. He forms a band of guerrilla warriors with similar intentions, but amidst their battle for power, Sean meets Ann – a half-human, half-alien with nearly an identical reason for fighting the Alliance as Sean – and, amidst the horror of war and devastation, a love begins to blossom between them. Together, they fight alliance tyranny.
Potter hopes readers will work to peel back the thematic layers of the distant future in this science fiction novel to find commentary on current society. He says, “Unless mankind changes its way of thinking, it is inevitable that sometime in the future, some maniac will trigger an all out nuclear war, and reduce this planet to a burned out cinder.”
