Twenty years ago we almost closed down our business and now we take pride in running a business that is growing both in print and online and more importantly provides over 170 jobs to the community.

The Los Angeles Business Journal, one of the leading business publications in Southern California, recognized El Clasificado with the Latino Business Award for setting an “example of excellence” throughout the greater Los Angeles area for companies in the 10 to 25 million annual revenue category. The Awards luncheon was held on January 24 at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles.

The award recognizes El Clasificado’s growth, dedication and community service over the last 23 years. “We would like to thank our employees, advertisers and readers for all their support”, expressed co-founders Martha de la Torre and Joe Badame. “Twenty years ago we almost closed down our business and now we take pride in running a business that is growing both in print and online and more importantly provides over 170 jobs to the community.”

Matt Toledo, Publisher and CEO of the Los Angeles Business Journal, highlighted the importance of Latino businesses to Los Angeles County. “This community is the foundation of the region, something that at times goes unnoticed. That is why we have created these awards, to recognize the positive contributions that these companies make to their employees and the community in general.”

Other winners within the 50 finalists included Genesis Consultans LLC, Lennova Industries, the non profit organization Puente Learning Center and the popular coffee brand F. Gavina & Sons, Inc.
