Youngevity Essential Life Sciences, a global direct marketer of lifestyle and nutritional products as well as gourmet coffee, today announced the appointment of noted sports fitness and nutrition expert, Sanjeev Javia, to its Athletic Advisory Board. Mr. Javia has been instrumental in developing Youngevity’s Healthy LifeStyles (HLS) program, a strategic and targeted program providing lifestyle, nutrition, and fitness regimens to meet a range of needs, from elite athletes to individuals interested in healthy, long-term weight management.

Mr. Javia is founder and president of Javia Wellness Consultants, a health and wellness firm focused on innovative research, formulation, and design of nutritional exercise and wellness initiatives. He has advised some of the world’s most elite athletes on fitness and nutrition. His long client list includes Super Bowl MVPs, World Series Champions, Stanley Cup Champions; PGA Players, Olympic Gold Medalists, the Green Bay Packers, the Boston Red Sox, and the Denver Nuggets.

He consulted with the Greenville Hospital System, the 20th largest hospital system in the nation and the 10th largest academic center. He directed the building of the Steadman Hawkins Nutrition Science Center and developed an adult weight management and disease prevention program for their patients and employees. During his time at Steadman Hawkins, a world leader in sports medicine and orthopedics, he was involve in the research pertaining to high intensity exercise and Parkinson’s, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cancer Rehabilitation, and Childhood Obesity.

Mr. Javia studied at the University of Michigan and received a degree in BioPsychology with an emphasis in Biology and Biochemistry. While at Michigan, he began to research the correlation between Type 2 Diabetes and obesity and later was provided a grant by the National Institutes of Health for further study. He later decided to pursue his passion for health and wellness by developing a line of nutritional products that were used by more than 600 professional and Olympic athletes, hundreds of elite trainers and coaches, and tens of thousands of nutritional enthusiasts and consumers. He currently serves on the Boards of Judi’s House, Michigan From the Heart, the M&M Foundation, Running Guru®, Athlete’s Training, and SuperFlex Bands; and is a partner in SpeedFlex™, a revolutionary exercise and wellness program focused on enhancing the performance of elite athletes and improving the functional and motor skills of neurological disorder patients through advanced technology and optimal biomechanics.
