On April 27, 2011, more than 137 confirmed tornadoes touched down in the state of Alabama. Many of the tornadoes were F4 or F5; the most powerful on the scale. The designation was incomprehensible and wide ranging. Randy Donaldson, manager of Western operations for ALAGASCO will explain how the utility maintained their systems, while responding to the natural disaster.
Chris McGill, managing director of policy analysis, for AGA will discuss shale plays and the future of natural gas. Gary Higbee of Higbee and Associates will present a behavior based approach to making safety everyone’s primary concern.
This is also the opportunity to learn about CenterPoint Energy’s smart meters pilot program. CenterPoint Energy will have installed nearly 2 million smart meters by the end of 2012. They will discuss the impact on customers and the operational efficiencies gained through the use of smart meters.
