Desert Mountain Realizes Six Figure Savings by Implementing APS Payroll's Cloud-based Payroll Processing, Human Resources and Time and Attendnace Solution.

APS Payroll (APS) is pleased to announce the addition of Desert Mountain Club, Inc. (Desert Mountain) to its national client group. Desert Mountain launched APS’s cloud-based payroll processing, human resources, and time & attendance solution last quarter with the goals of improving system efficiencies, access, usability and accuracy while significantly reducing costs.

As a private club with approximately 650 employees, Desert Mountain’s payroll system is multi-layered with a large number of pay codes, different classifications and a variety of employee groups. Prior to the conversion, the company utilized an older, in-house payroll system which required regular upgrades as well as the employment of a payroll expert dedicated to system management.

“In considering an update, it was critical for us to identify a company which could handle the intricacies of our detailed payroll structure and provide a solution robust enough to provide the high performance we demand without being overly complicated,” noted Greenberg. “Many of the payroll companies we looked at had more of a ‘department store’ approach to customer service instead of the highly responsive ‘boutique’ level of personalized service and relationship building culture we experienced with APS.”

Greenberg noted that the reporting function was another key area of concern in Desert Mountain’s selection process. “Reporting is a critical business management tool for us, and it must be easy to use, intuitive, customizable and accurate,” explained Greenberg. “The APS system is so user-friendly that virtually anyone could master the basics in less than 30 minutes. APS also has its own software and an in-house development team which enables them to be very responsive to requests for changes; you can pull the reports you need with confidence, and the reports can be dumped into a PDF or Microsoft Excel file as needed for presentation and tracking.”

Of note, APS ranked among the top national providers in CPA Practice Advisor’s 2011 National Professional Payroll Program Review. APS was reviewed in the Outsourced Systems and Programs Class, receiving a 4.75 score in the Reporting & Monitoring and Integration/Import & Export categories, the highest score received by any provider in a review category.
