The scalability and operational efficiency benefits of long haul optical transport at a fraction of the cost for the middle mile market

SOLiD Technologies USA is showcasing its ClearLight ACCESS™ fiber multiplexing solution, which increases existing fiber plant capacity 16x for middle mile service providers, at the NTCA Annual Meeting & EXPO from February 12-15 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego. The EXPO brings traditional and emerging telecommunications technology, products and services to key decision makers and industry buyers of rural telecom providers.

In addition to demonstrating ClearLight ACCESS in Booth 104, SOLiD has been selected to display its gear in the “Hot Technologies” exhibit which highlights innovative products and services. SOLiD is also presenting a customer success story to explore the ROI benefits and deployment best practices achieved by Empirical Networks. The presentation is on February 14 from 3–3:30 PM in Room Ford B on Level 3 at the EXPO.

“The market’s appetite for broadband and demand for capacity to support cell tower buildouts is causing fiber exhaustion,” said Seth Buechley, President of SOLiD Technologies USA. “We look forward to sharing with our fellow NTCA members how ClearLight ACCESS solves this problem by increasing existing metro fiber capacity 16x, reducing installation & commissioning times and achieving operational expenditure (OPEX) savings of 50-75%.”

ClearLight ACCESS delivers the scalability and operational efficiency benefits of long haul optical transport solutions to the middle mile market at a fraction of the cost by using SOLiD’s patented ClearLight LASER™ tunable laser technology which automatically assigns and tunes wavelengths, and attenuates for distance to eliminate the need for manual configurations, truck rolls or specialized training.

Telecom providers can deploy ClearLight ACCESS for multiple applications including cellular backhaul, innercity point-to-point, point-to-multi-drop or point-to-multi-point, and with support for SONET, OC12/OC48, CPRI and GbE protocols.
