CETERIS® Continues its Growth in Response to Increased Transfer Pricing Controversy in the Oil and Gas Sector; Andrew Sliwa, CETERIS’ Energy Sector Leader, Expands Firm’s Presence with the Opening of the Houston Office.

CETERIS®, a global consulting firm that provides transfer pricing expertise along with strategic economic analysis and valuation services, announced today that Andrew Sliwa, Ceteris’ Energy Sector Leader, has formalized Ceteris’ presence in Houston with the opening of the firm’s Houston office. Andrew leads the firm’s Energy practice and provides transfer pricing and valuation services focused on the unique circumstances of energy sector multi-nationals, with particular focus on the oil and gas sector.

“Andy has been working alongside our clients for several years in the Houston market and has done an excellent job growing Ceteris’ presence in the Energy sector” said Mike Heimert, CEO and Founder of CETERIS.

“Our decision to formalize our presence in Houston was based on careful consideration of market needs. It is clear that clients have become much more sophisticated with regard to transfer pricing matters. In fact, numerous clients in today’s environment have internal teams that handle many of the transfer pricing needs of the company. As a result, we believe clients prefer to work with advisors that can handle their most complex issues and are extremely responsive in doing so,” Andrew Sliwa stated.

“We certainly are seeing an increase in the level of scrutiny around how energy sector multinationals set and implement their transfer pricing policies, especially those dealing with the provision of technical services and use of technology and know-how,” Sliwa added. “The reality is, many companies in this sector have fared quite well in recent years by taking on more challenging projects, such as deepwater. However, the more challenging projects require increased cross-border collaboration and knowledge sharing among the skilled scientists and engineers within these multinational groups. That fact has elevated the profile of the multinationals in the eyes of many tax authorities,” noted Sliwa.

“As a result, clients are seeking someone that understands the dynamics of the Energy sector and can assist them with their issues. We know that there is a growing need in this sector and I am proud of the fact that the depth and breadth of our operational, financial, and economic expertise allows us to assemble the best team to respond to individual client needs with a relentless sense of urgency,” Sliwa stated.
