Jaguar Land Rover is directing potential new recruits to its online recruitment portal to put themselves up for the company’s 2012 apprentice training programme.
The famed car manufacturer is looking for a record 133 apprentices to join the scheme this year, up from last year’s intake of 114. The website will be live to take applications from Monday, 6 February, and will be offering 11 places for advanced apprentices and 24 for higher apprentices.
The programme for higher apprentices is new this year and will be eligible to A-level qualified candidates, who will then work for a series of NVQs and a degree. The advanced apprenticeships are open to GCSE-qualified candidates and will see the recruits spend a year in college working for an NVQ2 in performing engineering operations and an NVQ3 in a chosen trade pathway, as well as training in communication, IT and numeracy.
Jaguar Land Rover’s HR director, Des Thurlby, said, “Our apprentice intake has more than doubled in the last four years and I am delighted that this year we are committing to take on a record number of apprentices.”
The recruits will be spread around all of the company’s Merseyside and Midlands engineering and manufacturing sites.
