Cal Thomas, one of America’s most widely syndicated op-ed columnists, will return to Liberty University to speak at convocation on Monday, Feb. 6.

Cal Thomas, one of America’s most widely syndicated op-ed columnists, will return to Liberty University to speak at convocation on Monday, Feb. 6.

Thomas has had a career in broadcast and print journalism for more than 40 years. He has appeared in more than 500 national newspapers, authored more than 10 books and has been a political contributor to Fox News. He has appeared on NBC News in Washington, D.C, and CBNC. He is currently a regular contributor on the Fox News Channel and a writer for USA Today.

From 1980 to 1985, Thomas was vice president of the Moral Majority, a conservative political lobbying group organized by Liberty’s founder, Dr. Jerry Falwell.

In his last visit to Liberty in April 2011, Thomas participated in a debate with Bob Beckel, a liberal democrat who co-authored “Common Ground: How to Stop the Partisan War That is Destroying America” with Thomas.

Convocation, held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the semester, is the largest weekly gathering of Christian students in the country. It features speakers of national influence from every sphere of society, including pastors, businessmen, actors and political figures.

Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Va., is the world’s largest Christian university. More than 12,000 students attend classes on its 6,500-acre residential campus and more than 61,000 study in its thriving online education program.
