Claesson Koivisto Rune and Offecct have collaborated for 15 years and have together designed a great number of successful products. This year, two new products are presented: the chair/armchair FASTBACK and the table NOBIS. In addition an anniversary exhibition is held in Offecct’s showroom in Stockholm.
FASTBACK is an upholstered conference chair with an unmatched comfort making it very pleasant even when one is seated longer moments. The excellent comfort comes from technology used in car seats, where the secret lies with the use of suspension systems.
FASTBACK has a soft, yet alert and crisp design language. The chair’s rounded angles characterize the design, and also add comfort: when one changes seating position one does not encounter hard or uncomfortable angles. FASTBACK is available as a chair and an armchair.
Claesson Koivisto Rune’s other news is NOBIS, a table that was originally created for the new luxury hotel Nobis in Stockholm where Claesson Koivisto Rune were responsible for the interior design.
The table was designed for the Gold Bar of the hotel, and was initially produced entirely in brass. Both Claesson Koivisto Rune and Offecct thought that the result was very successful and decided this year to develop a whole product line with the name NOBIS.
NOBIS’s form can paradoxically be described as a sort of round square, that is to say, the square that constitutes the table top has no sharp angles but is characterized by a round softness. This special form is present everywhere in our surrounding, often without us noticing it. The form can for example be found in soaps, spoons and old TV-sets. The form is not new and can be expressed with the help of a mathematical formula that Claesson Koivisto Rune departed from when the design program for NOBIS was created.
The table NOBIS fits well into all types of environments, and offers possibilities for many people to be seated around the table at the same time. NOBIS comes in five different sizes, and can also be produced with the table top in the form of a square or a circle.
In connection with the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2012 an anniversary exhibition to highlight the 15 years long and successful collaboration between Claesson Koivisto Rune and Offecct will be held. The exhibition will be shown in Offecct’s showroom on Torsgatan 13, Stockholm.
