Connect-123, a leader in providing international internship, volunteer, and study abroad programs, announces its inaugural scholarship program that will award up to $8,000 to individuals seeking personal and professional growth through life-changing experiences offered around the world.
Connect-123 works with individuals to place them into international internships and international volunteer programs at multiple locations around the world, including Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dublin, Shanghai, and Cape Town. Various local companies, nonprofit organizations, schools, research institutes, and healthcare clinics host programs giving participants unique, life-enriching work experience on an international scale. In South Africa, study abroad programs are offered through the University of Cape Town, where academic credits may also be earned.
Scholarship entrants can choose one of three ways to answer the question, “How would the opportunity to work, learn, and explore from a Connect-123 international program make a difference in your life and/or in the lives of others?” Responses can be submitted, along with a basic entry form, either through written essays that are 500 words or less, digital photographs with pertinent captions, or a URL linking to video on a hosting site such as YouTube. Winners will be determined based on the strength of their responses.
One recipient will be awarded $4,000, which will cover the Connect-123 program fee, airfare, and two months of housing. Should the competition receive more than 100 scholarship entries, a second recipient will be awarded a $2,500 scholarship, and over 200 entries will trigger a $1,500 award for a third recipient.
The deadline for submitting entries is March 31, 2012 and winners will be announced on April 15, 2012. Entrants can register online at http://www.connect-123.com/about/scholarships/register/.
